The human spleen measures 5 to 6 inches long and 4 inches wide, its weight about 150 grams .In an embro the spleen is from mesenclyme cells as a thicking in the dorsal mesentery suspendind the stomach . blood vessels are in it and bring about a differentiation of mesenclyme cells to form splenic cell and pulp.

The spleen consist of the following parts

(1) An outer membrane the peritoneum.
(2) A structural framework consisting of fiobromuscular capsule, trabeculae and reticular meshwork .
(3) Splenic pulp or parenchyma consisting of red and white pulp.
(4) Blood vessels ,lymphatic and nerves.
